Places to Stay - The Lake District
The Lake District is England's largest National Park. It includes Scafell Pike - its highest mountain, Wastwater - its deepest lake, and great communities such as Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere.
There is plenty of things to see and do in all weathers! There us something for everyone - outdoor music and cultural festivals, extreme sports and activities to historic houses and gardens, tranquil lake cruises and award winning museums and art galleries.
You can cycle, walk and enjoy the water in the beautiful Lake District to your heart’s content. There is more than 3,500 kilometres of rights of way and 12 of the largest lakes in England. There really is something for everyone!
